Blog We Love: The Budget Fashionista!

This week we were honored to be reviewed by a savvy style blog we follow and enjoy — The Budget Fashionista, also known by their readers as TBF.  Fashionista Kathryn Finney founded TBF blog in 2003, from a love of style, and a lack of cash. Over the last ten years, TBF has been featured in over 600 media outlets, including the TODAY Show, Good Morning America, CNN, E!/Style, and Fox News, and has been profiled in The New York Times, USA TODAY, The Wall Street Journal, and InStyle.

 Why is TBF so special?

Amidst thousands of style blogs out there, TBF stands out as a voice for real girls who want to look fabulous, and still be able to pay their bills.  The writers realize that between expensive high end fashion, and discount store shopping there lies a wide middle ground, and many of today’s women are part of this landscape.

5 Things We Can All Be Thankful For This Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!  Before digging into your turkey, Tofurky, duck, or whatever holiday dinner you wil be enjoying, take a minute to remember what you have to be thankful for this year.  We’re doing the same!  In case you need some inspiration, here are a few things we can all be thankful for today:

1. Time with family & friends (and pets!).  Life is so busy, there is rarely a time where nearly everyone has a few days off work, school and other responsibilities.  The holidays are always crazy, but remember what is really important — spending time with those you love!

Boutique Friday

You know the drill the day after Thanksgiving – if you want to get great Black Friday deals at large retail chains, you need to start waiting in line in the middle of the night.  Of course, the opportunity cost of waiting in line and navigating through a mob of people may outweigh the savings from any product, but do you have a choice? Absolutely!!!  You can actually find great deals before the weekend rush by checking out our top pick items at these retailers by following the Black Friday feed on the Unclipt app – without the need to wake up really early!

Or you can go boutique this Friday! While small local merchants are unable to offer high discounts touted by their larger counterparts, many of them have wonderful selections of holiday gifts and specials. Since 2010, American Express has been supporting local businesses during the Black Friday weekend. This year, Amex card holders who register their card can earn $25 with Amex when you spend $25 or more (one time only) at participating local businesses on Nov. 24th. Here are some of our favorite boutique sales in New England. You can follow some of these local boutiques on our app to automatically enter to win gift cards between now and Christmas.

Baby Koo

A jewel of a store with an amazing selection of toys, gears, and clothes even for the pickiest parents and kids. Karina, the baby boutique owner, genuinely cares about helping her customers find the safest and best baby items. No wonder the store was Best of Boston. It’s totally worth a trip to Newton. This Friday, stop by Baby Koo to pick up some of its stylish clothes. Keep an eye out for an Unclipt contest to win a $50 gift certificate so the lucky winner can go koo koo at Baby Koo.
